Porsche used the same 1975 Carrera 3.0 engine in this luxurious sports car. The new SC engine was more reliable and had more potential for future tuning than old engine. The engine however didn't deliver as much power as the Carrera 3.0L engine, but because more torque was available at lower revolutions, which made the car was nicer to drive. This car ticks 60MPH mark in less than 7 seconds and tops 135MPH. About 58000 of these cars were seen in streets between it's production years. The SC was even more luxurious then the Carrera 3.0. A 5-speed manual gearbox was standard on this car. A new Sport Group package option added the well-known whale tail and front air dam. The black Fuchs wheels were also part of this package.
